Choosing to live a
healthier, longer, and happier life starts with taking care of your
body and mind. Knowing the right MSM dosage is an important part of
that total experience. Before completely understanding how MSM
works, you must understand how the body works.
Sulfur is an extremely
abundant substance found in every cell of our body. In fact, sulfur
is also found in the body of every other mammal on the planet.
Sulfur is used to repair and replace damaged tissue. People lacking
sulfur may notice brittle toenails, fingernails, and hair. In
addition, sulfur deficiencies also account for many gastrointestinal
issues, poor immune systems, memory loss, rheumatism, arthritis, and
a sensitivity to pain.
Sulfur allows our body to
heal itself efficiently!
Please, be aware that there
is a difference between sulfur, sulfites, sulfides, and sulfas.
Sulfur is the good stuff we need while sulfides, sulfites, and
sulfas are not necessarily good for us nor will they have the same
benefits. In fact, many people can be harmed by partaking of
sulfites, sulfides, and sulfas. If you are not sure, please, do more
research!
MSM dosage is closely
related to our bodies’ need and how MSM is absorbed into our bodies.
MSM is water soluble just as Vitamin C is water soluble. You would
have to take more than your body weight in both MSM and Vitamin C to
even notice you took too much. At the end of the day, we urinate out
the MSM we did not use. However, knowing how much is enough is
important just to ensure appropriate and maximum benefits.
Just as we know that Vitamin
C is good for us, we would not take massive doses of Vitamin C all
at once. We would definitely notice some gastrointestinal upset. MSM
should be treated with the same respect. Too much of a good thing is
not always good.
The MSM dosage recommended
by many experts is from 2,000 to 6,000 mg per day for an average 150
pound person. However, you should work your way up to the maximum
dosage to just allow your body adjust to your new healthy lifestyle.
A quarter teaspoon is about 1,000 mg. That means you will want to
start with about half a teaspoon in the morning for a few days, and
then add another half a teaspoon until you reach a dosage you are
satisfied with.
Another important factor is
our smaller pets. As mentioned previously, MSM is safe for all
mammals. However, you will want to get the right MSM dosage for your
furry friends.
Dogs and cats should have
about one-eighth of a teaspoon of MS once per day for every 25
pounds of mass. Horses should have one tablespoon or 15 grams of MSM
twice a day per 1,000 pounds. Yes, your little furry companions can
benefit from MSM just like you, but they should be monitored
carefully because they cannot speak up to tell you what the right
dosage is for their body.
MSM dosages
are going to depend on weight and, in some cases, metabolism. If you
want to live a healthier, longer life, you will want to investigate
what MSM can do for you. |
